Yuri Stepanov-Bregvadze – Russian-born British actor, musician, composer, producer and entertainer.
Educated in piano by St. Petersburg Conservatory teachers since the age of four. 7 years at Rimsky-Korsakov Music School in Madame Tukhtiaeva’s piano class.
After graduating from the Academy Of Culture (St. Petersburg) with the Choir Master Diploma, Yuri got involved in rock music and became one of the founders and first stars of the Russian underground rock and rhythm and blues with the famous Russian band The Myths.
After moving to the UK, Yuri fulfilled his long-time ambition to become an actor and as such has appeared in over 40 international TV and feature films including The Fourth Angel (dir. J. Irwin), Snatch (dir. G. Ritchie), and The Jackal (dir. M. Caton-Jones).
As a producer and promoter, he has staged numerous sell-out Russian rock shows and events in the UK.
A member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, equally fluent in all music genres, Yuri has written over 200 songs, including the milestone ethnic album Gypsy Love (English) and Blues a la Russe (Russian and English), a children’s rock opera Hanzel & Gretl, and ballet music for the English National Ballet School.
As a freelance ballet pianist Yuri worked for Svetlana Beryozova, Roland Petit, Sulamith and Mikhail Messerer, Anthony Dawson and Derek Dean.
Since 1998 Yuri has also been working with the English National Ballet School as a pianist and composer.
In his spare time Yuri enjoys a double life as an inventor and is still waiting for a major company to recognise his genius as the inventor of an ecologically clean car, an anti-snoring device, and the telephone of the future.
